The play, which first premiered Off-Broadway in early 2018, centered on the lives of two generations of immigrant women who collide in a basement apartment in Queens as the choices they’ve made regarding their security, dignity and desires comes back to confront them and forces them to determine what shouldn’t be left behind as they try to move their life forward.

Majok is attached to executive produce and pen the series adaptation, while Penny will executive produce through his A Penny For Your Thoughts Entertainment banner and Alex Soler co-executive producing through Penny’s label.

The Polish-American playwright first came on to the scene in 2015 with her debut play Ironbound, which received rave reviews from critics and audiences, and followed it up with her Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Cost of Living in 2017, Queens in 2018 and Sanctuary City, which was set to begin in late March, but production was shut down due to the global health crisis.

Vance, on which he wrote, produced and directed and received critical acclaim from critics and audiences alike
