Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf presided over the oath-taking ceremony of Justice Dije Abdu Aboki as the substantive Chief Judge of the State on Monday, August 7.

Speaking on the development, Gov Yusuf said he is glad to have presided over the oath-taking ceremony. He added that history has been made and he is proud to be part of it.
“I’m glad to have presided over the oath-taking ceremony of Justice Dije Abdu Aboki as the first female substantive Chief Judge of Kano State.
“History has been made today, and I am proud to be very well part of it,” the Governor tweeted.
Recall that the former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje approved the appointment of Justice Dije Aboki as acting Chief Judge of the state during his tenure.
Aboki’s appointment followed the retirement of the erstwhile Chief Judge, Justice Nura Sagir.
Justice Aboki, before her appointment, served as a state High Court judge since 2006.
The Kano State House of Assembly later approved Aboki’s substantive appointment, making her the first female Chief Judge in the state.
The development follows the consideration of a letter forwarded to the assembly by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir-Yusuf, that was read by the Speaker, Ismail Falgore, during the plenary.
