Pastor Bolaji Idowu, the head pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, enlightened his congregation on the problem of lending money to friends during a recent preaching.

He claims that lending individuals money never ends well and also destroys relationship. Most borrowers do not repay the money they were loaned.

Pastor Bolaji claims he cannot be financially disciplined enough to offer his funds to someone who will struggle to repay them. So, rather than risking and losing relationships over the difficulties of recovering money, he would prefer not donate with the expectation of receiving it back.

He does, however, claim that he would give what he has for free to a buddy who is struggling financially, but he will not lend what he cannot let go of.

Many others agreed with this viewpoint, as they recounted their own experiences lending money to others, which did not go well.

@GoldenOyoBoy: The funniest part is that people will not get the part he said “give them what you can afford but don’t expect them to pay back”

@Amy_beke: He didn’t lie, ruined a friendship

@Kingabasalito: If they are your real pals. Borrow them but don’t expect them to return it. If they did fine, if they didn’t fine

@elmannygram: Love pastors that speak the truth.

@otakerioghenero: Indeed it never get well
