Gunmen invaded a hotel in Gauraka community, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State, abducting the hotel owner, his family members, and guests. They opened the gate of the facility upon arrival and fired gunshots while leaving with their victims, attracting attention to the incident.

The attack occurred around 1 am on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Sabo Abdullahi, the commander of the security vigilante in the area, identified the abducted individuals as the hotel proprietor, his brother, his brother’s wife, the hotel manager, and three other guests.

A resident named Musa stated that the raid was the latest in a series of kidnapping incidents in Gauraka community. The incident was marked by the gunmen taking their victims to nearby forests and other areas in the region.

According to sources, this incident adds to the string of kidnappings that have plagued Gauraka community in recent months, causing concern among residents about the security of the town.
