Manchester United is considering a last-minute move in the transfer window for Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell.
United’s interest stems from the need for cover at left-back due to concerns over Luke Shaw’s fitness and a lack of experienced options at Old Trafford.
Although Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui can provide backup, they are favored in their natural right-sided positions.
Reports from Talksport suggest that as Chelsea rushes to offload players before the EPL transfer window closes on August 30, they have approached United regarding Chilwell.
Chilwell, who was not in the squad for Chelsea’s recent loss to Manchester City, has been informed by Enzo Maresca that he is not part of the plans going forward.
Training separately alongside potential departee Raheem Sterling, Chilwell might be available to United for around £20m ($26m).
