According to a statement by Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources in Lagos State, shared on his verified social media account, six people were arrested for openly urinating on the rail track in front of the Nigeria Army Shopping Complex, Arena, Oshodi.

The arrests were made in line with the government’s commitment to promoting cleanliness and ensuring a hygienic environment as part of the #ZeroToleranceLagos and #CleanerLagos initiatives.

Earlier, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) reported cases of vandalism affecting railway assets within the Apapa Port.

During a stakeholders summit conducted by the Nigerian Shippers Council (NSC) in collaboration with the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Mr. Akinwunmi Oshilowo, the NRC Director of Operations and Commercial Services, highlighted the challenges faced by NRC locomotives in accessing the ports due to obstructions caused by numerous trucks on the railway right of way within the Apapa Bulk Terminal Limited (ABTL) section of the Apapa Port.

Oshilowo also mentioned the insufficient Marshaling Yards within the ports, making it difficult to bring train locomotives into the APM Terminals in Apapa.
