Siminialayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has announced the suspension of Otonye Briggs, who was serving as the caretaker chairman of the Akuku-Toru local government area.
This decision, communicated in a statement on September 17, mandates Briggs’s immediate removal from his position.
Governor Fubara has appointed Bitebobo Nelson Amieye to succeed Briggs as the caretaker chairman of the council.
Additionally, Briggs has been instructed to transfer all council assets in his possession to the newly appointed chairman.
