Lam Extends Congratulations to President-elect Trump in a Warm Phone Conversation

Party Leader To Lam congratulates President-elect Donald Trump in phone call

On the night of November 11, General Secretary To Lam of the Party engaged in a telephone discussion with Donald Trump, who was then the President-Elect of the United States.

General Secretary To Lam congratulated Trump on becoming the 47th President and acknowledged his role in fostering U.S.-Vietnam relations.

During their conversation, To Lam highlighted the successful outcomes of the U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He expressed Vietnam’s commitment to furthering this partnership for the benefit of both nations and to promote global peace and sustainable development.

To Lam also outlined specific strategies to boost economic, trade, and investment collaborations in sectors where both countries have mutual interests and strengths.

President-Elect Trump expressed his happiness at rekindling communication with To Lam and conveyed his regards to the Vietnamese populace.

He emphasized the positive trajectory of U.S.-Vietnam relations and showed interest in enhancing economic and trade ties in key areas for both nations.

Trump conveyed his belief that the friendly relations would continue to thrive and reminisced about his past experiences with the Vietnamese people while acknowledging the valuable contributions of the Vietnamese diaspora in America.

During the call, To Lam invited Trump to visit Vietnam, which Trump graciously accepted. He reciprocated the invitation, suggesting that To Lam visit the U.S. when feasible.

Earlier, on November 7, following Trump’s victory, To Lam along with President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent their congratulations.

The senior leadership in Vietnam emphasized the strategic importance of the U.S. as a partner and expressed confidence in the durability and effectiveness of the Vietnam-U.S. Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, built on nearly 30 years of cooperation.

They highlighted the expectation for continued growth that serves the mutual interests of both countries while supporting peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Moreover, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan sent her congratulations to Vice President-Elect James David Vance.
