The security footage from the hotel captures Payne, who was in a white T-shirt, calmly leaving an elevator and having a conversation with Ezequiel Pereyra, an employee of the Casa Azul hotel. Pereyra, later accused of providing drugs to Payne, was seen having a short interaction with the singer before departing.
The released footage raises concerns about Payne’s mental condition and the circumstances leading to his death on October 16. Initially thought to be an accident or suicide, authorities are now considering the case as a potential homicide.
