Dangote and IPMAN Form Supply Agreement
Dangote Refinery has officially established a partnership with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN).
This collaboration involves Dangote supplying IPMAN with 240 million litres of petrol each month.
The announcement was made by Chinedu Ukadike, the National Publicity Secretary for IPMAN, during a recent media interview on Sunday.
According to Ukadike, this arrangement is part of a new deal that allows IPMAN to obtain petrol directly from the refinery, eliminating the need for middlemen.
He added that members of IPMAN will start retrieving fuel on a weekly basis from the refinery, starting this November, contingent upon demand levels.
Ukadike stated, “We will be taking millions of litres. Previously, most imported fuel in Nigeria was distributed by IPMAN. Now, we have the capacity to take as much as is produced. We can start from 10 million litres and more, with Dangote prepared to supply over 60 million litres based on our needs. This is a weekly provision. Once we begin taking from the refinery, we will distribute throughout the country.”
“We are currently finalizing our discussions. The meeting between IPMAN and Dangote happened last week, and we are sorting out necessary documentation. There are just a few final details to complete. Our goal is to begin taking petrol from the plant by the end of this month. The Dangote Group has assured us that we can start taking deliveries even today if needed.”
