Angelina Jolie Dives into the World of Fashion and Opera with Exciting New Projects

Angelina Jolie takes on fashion and opera in exciting new roles

Angelina Jolie has taken on a thrilling new film opportunity. It was announced on Tuesday that the Oscar-winning star will be featured in a movie centered around the high fashion scene in Europe.

The film, titled Stitches, is directed by Alice Winocour and will be filmed in both French and English. The storyline unfolds in the luxurious environment of high fashion in Paris.

Jolie’s Character in the Film

Jolie will portray a filmmaker, one of three women whose paths cross during Fashion Week. This character resonates with Jolie’s own interests in fashion, particularly highlighted by her initiative Atelier Jolie.

Filming for Stitches is anticipated to begin in early 2025, produced by CG Cinema, led by Charles Gillibert in Paris, along with Zhang Xin and William Horberg from Closer Media.

Jolie’s Pursuit of Challenging Roles

This announcement follows her recent project, Maria, where she played the legendary Greek opera singer Maria Callas in her later years during the 1970s.

At the film’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival, it received an impressive eight-minute standing ovation. Regarding her role as Callas, Jolie remarked, “Pablo (Larraín, director) expected me to learn, to truly sing… to delve into opera and fully immerse myself in the work.”

Jolie mentioned that her experience was not just about the technical skills required; it also involved a profound emotional journey.

“The challenge stemmed from the emotional aspect, requiring me to find my voice and express myself through my body,” Jolie explained.

While there is hope for an Oscar nomination for her performance in Maria, she views any recognition as a delightful addition rather than a necessity.

In an interview with Best UK, she expressed, “It deeply matters that someone appreciates your work. That kind of acknowledgment is thrilling and gratifying. However, I’m mostly gratified just for having contributed to this film; that is my true happiness.”

Jolie also shared insights on her learning experience, identifying it as “the therapy” she realized she needed.

“I dedicated seven months to opera classes alongside talented instructors, Italian lessons, and a supportive crew,” she noted.

Angelina Jolie keeps pushing her limits with intricate and meaningful roles, further elevating her career while nurturing her passion for the arts and fashion.
