Ariel Winter’s decision to leave Los Angeles wasn’t solely about enjoying walks with her dogs; it stemmed from a variety of factors. The actress has openly discussed her complicated relationship with her mother, and in a recent People interview, she revealed that the intense media scrutiny she experienced as a child contributed to her negative feelings towards the city. “It carries some unpleasant memories for me,” she confessed to the publication.

However, it’s not to say that all her experiences in Los Angeles were negative. In her appearance on “Quitters,” she mentioned the difficulty of leaving behind friends. Still, Winter has maintained her close ties with several co-stars from “Modern Family.” She affectionately called her on-screen brother Nolan Gould her “best friend” in an interview with People, and she shares a special sister-like relationship with her screen sibling Sarah Hyland in real life. Additionally, Winter has praised her sister Shanelle Workman as a supportive figure during her challenging childhood, stating on a 2016 episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, “she’s the best part of my life.”

During her “Quitters” interview, Winter revealed it was her sister who proposed the move to Tennessee, expressing her own desire to relocate as well. Given their strong bond, it’s likely this played a significant role in Winter’s decision to leave LA. As for future opportunities that might bring her back? Winter stated to People, “If I land a network show, I could easily return.” For now, it’s evident she’s enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle, and we’re thrilled for her.
