Justin Timberlake was drinking with Estee Stanley, a renowned interior designer, on the night he was arrested for DUI in Sag Harbor, despite his assertions of just having one martini.
The Sexy Back artist was pulled over on June 18 after leaving The American Hotel. The officer who apprehended him did not recognize Timberlake, even when he mentioned that he had a tour coming up shortly.
Timberlake ran a stop sign before being detained by the young officer. He was subsequently fined $500 along with a $260 surcharge and was sentenced to 25 hours of community service.
As reported by PageSix.com, the 43-year-old was dining with Stanley and her husband, Bryan Furst. This outing isn’t out of the ordinary, as the duo has maintained a friendship since 2012.
Stanley was introduced to Timberlake through his wife, Jessica Biel, and even hosted their engagement party in 2012, later collaborating on business projects in 2012 and 2016.
Timberlake remarked, “This was really a collaboration with Estee. I don’t think I would pursue it if we weren’t in it together. We share a long history and a similar vision for my homes.”
Officer reports on Timberlake’s condition during arrest
Despite Timberlake’s assertion of consuming just one martini, staff at The American Hotel stated that any additional drinks weren’t consumed on their premises.
However, the arresting officer noted that Timberlake’s condition suggested he was not fit to drive. The report indicated a noticeable scent of alcohol on his breath and difficulties in maintaining focus.
The officer observed that Timberlake had slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet, and did poorly on all standard sobriety tests.
