A photographer has shared insights into capturing a rare moment of affection between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who were seen holding hands early in their relationship.
The relationship between the tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs and the renowned pop star has been kept relatively private. Before December 10, 2023, they were particularly cautious, even about simple displays of affection like holding hands.
An example of their desire for privacy was Swift renting a restaurant in Missouri to enjoy a meal without being observed, allowing them to keep their relationship low-key.
However, one photographer managed to catch a glimpse of the couple while they exited the Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills game at Arrowhead Stadium. Tammy Ljungblad shared how she captured the intimate moment within the stadium.
“It was one of Taylor Swift’s first games,” said Ljungblad in an interview with the Kansas City Star. “I received a tip from another photographer near the elevator, indicating the couple was leaving the venue.”
“I positioned myself on a stairway landing and soon after, captured the first photo of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce leaving together,” she added.
Upon returning home, Ljungblad found her photo circulating widely online and on news outlets, often without proper credit to her or the Kansas City Star.
Since that moment, the couple has been increasingly seen in public together. They were recently spotted cuddling at the 2024 US Open Final while watching Jannik Sinner compete against Taylor Fritz.
Kelce also surprised fans at the Eras Tour in London by lifting Swift on stage in front of a massive audience, demonstrating their growing comfort with public displays of affection.
Upcoming Chiefs Game
The Kansas City Chiefs will next play on either January 18 or 19 as part of the Divisional Round in the 2024/25 NFL Playoffs.
Having secured a bye during the Wild Card round, they will enjoy some rest before facing either the Houston Texans or the Los Angeles Chargers once the first round concludes.
