Blake Lively paid homage to Britney Spears by wearing a stunning outfit at her recent movie premiere.
Lively was seen at the New York premiere of “It Ends With Us” donning a Versace dress with a single strap that was previously worn by Spears. The dress is see-through with sparkly accents in pink, purple, green, and blue hues.
The tribute follows Britney’s successful memoir, which is now expected to be made into a biographical film. Reports suggest that the pop star had the final say on who will portray her on the big screen.
Spears previously wore the dress in 2002 at a Versace show in Milan, Italy. Lively expressed that wearing the dress was important to her as Spears symbolizes qualities like love, beauty, youth, hard work, determination, strength, sexuality, and delicacy.
In a social media post, she praised Britney, acknowledging her influence on millennials to shine, inspire, and work hard. She expressed excitement about the upcoming biopic and future endeavors.
The actress from Gossip Girl eagerly acquired the dress when it became available, eagerly waiting six months to wear it.
She mentioned her interest in portraying Britney in the biopic but clarified that she shouldn’t be considered for the role.
