Jayden, the youngest son of Britney Spears, is 18 years old and is taking steps to mend his complicated relationship with his mother after a long period of separation.
A family source mentioned that it was Jayden who initiated contact with Britney, seeking to restore their communication.
“Jayden sent a text to Britney to let her know he was back home,” the source relayed. “She was delighted to hear from him and to see him again.”
Jayden Takes the Initiative
After relocating to Hawaii with his older brother, Sean Preston, due to their stepmother Victoria Prince’s job at the University of Hawaii, Jayden appears ready to take the first step towards reconciliation with his mother.
Despite past emotional barriers, Jayden decided to reach out to the singer known for “Toxic.” Another insider confirmed that Britney was overjoyed by the outreach from her son.
“Britney is ecstatic to have her child back in her life,” the source noted. “Things are progressing positively.”
The Background of Their Estrangement
The divide between Britney and her children has been ongoing since 2008, when Kevin Federline, Britney’s ex-husband, gained full custody of Sean Preston and Jayden shortly after their split.
However, signs indicate that the relationship might be healing. Federline’s representative, attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan, stated that he is aware of the situation and supports the boys’ efforts to improve their bond with their mother.
“If the boys are willing to work on their relationship with their mom, Kevin is completely supportive of that,” Kaplan explained.
He also pointed out that both boys are now adults and Kevin respects their choices.
There is uncertainty about how long Jayden will remain in California, where Britney lives, and reports indicate he is not staying at her extravagant home in Thousand Oaks.
Jayden is contemplating enrolling in college in California and has taken the chance to catch up with friends in Los Angeles. In contrast, his older brother Sean Preston, 19, has not yet expressed a desire to reconnect with their mother.
