Ariana Madix and Meghan McCain attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner party on Friday. However, when Madix posted a photo from the event on her Instagram Stories, McCain was cropped out of the image. Madix’s rep has since clarified that the omission was inadvertent and there was no agenda behind it.
McCain shared the same image on her Instagram and revealed that she was standing just a few feet away from Madix when the picture was taken. She commented on the mishap, saying, “I had a wonderful time with Ariana, Lala and DailyMail.com. I can’t believe I’m commenting on something so ridiculous.”
Madix’s rep noted that the position of the images may have played a factor in the conservative commentator getting cut. She explained that Madix’s image was uploaded to her Instagram Stories in a vertical format, while McCain’s is posted horizontally. Madix later took to her Instagram Stories to clarify the “difference between a main feed and a zoomed IG story,” adding, “We all know how aspect ratios work.”
Madix was invited to the White House sponsored event following the national attention her ex Tom Sandoval’s cheating scandal — dubbed “Scandoval” — garnered. At the event, she was seen smiling with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins and S.E. Cupp, who is BFFs with McCain.
A source told Page Six, “Everyone in DC was running over to get pic with Ariana and Lala and offering their support for her. They are famously taking over this political event.” McCain has been a longtime Bravo fan and even considers “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Erika Jayne a “good friend.” Earlier this week, her former co-host Sunny Hostin said on “WWHL” that she thinks McCain should be hired for a “Housewives” franchise.
