Catherine Zeta-Jones looked into the archives for a stunning outfit while on vacation in Portofino, Italy.
The 53-year-old actress was seen walking hand-in-hand with husband Michael Douglas while wearing the same purple dress that Jessica Simpson wore to the 2005 VH1 Awards.
The dazzling purple gown features a plunging neckline and ruched waistline with contrasting patterns and the Academy Award winner accessorized with a black clutch, espadrille wedges and a pair of wide-rimmed sunglasses.
Simpson, meanwhile, hit the red carpet in 2005 in a more glammed-up version of the same look.
Wearing what was said to be the “revenge dress” at the time, the singer showed off a sleek bob haircut and paired the gown with dangling earrings, sandaled heels, and a piercing smoky-eye makeup look.
The “Irresistible” songstress had announced her split from ex-husband Nick Lachey just one month before making the appearance at the award show in the striking dress.
Simpson, 43, and Lachey, 49, tied the knot in October 2002 and divorced in June 2006.
The fashion designer went on to wed Eric Johnson in 2014 while the “98 Degrees” alum married Vanessa Lachey in 2011.

Zeta-Jones wore the dress while walking down the cobblestone streets with her husband.
The 78-year-old went for a more muted look, wearing a navy button-up shirt and white trousers.
The couple got married in November 2000 and share two children together: Dylan, 22, and Carys, 20.
The film producer also has a 44-year-old son, Cameron, from his first marriage to Diandra Luker.
The proud parents celebrated Carys’ 20th birthday in April, posting heartwarming tributes for their youngest child.
“20 years ago today my daughter Carys came in to my arms and there is not a day I haven’t cherished. Happy Birthday beautiful lady,” Zeta-Jones captioned an Instagram video.
Douglas also shared a sweet tribute in honor of his little girl’s big day.
“To my darling daughter Carys, wishing you a happy happy birthday!” he captioned a recent snap of her, in which she posed on a couch beside an electric guitar. “Now that you are leaving your teens, may this be a wonderful New Year for you darling! I love you, Dad.”
Both Carys and Dylan have spent most of their lives out of the spotlight, though the former hit the red carpet at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival with her parents.
Perhaps the young star will be the next to wear Simpson’s wares.
