Youths Set Fire to Primary School in Bauchi
An unidentified group of youths has destroyed the sole primary school situated in the Kandahar region of Bauchi, creating a significant hurdle for students as schools gear up to reopen in 2025.
The incident reportedly took place on Friday during a local dispute, although the exact cause of the confrontation remains unknown.
According to Daily Post, attempts to control the blaze were unsuccessful, resulting in the complete destruction of the school.
The local community is mourning the loss, as this school was the only educational facility available for children in the area.
The State Government has publicly denounced the incident, labeling it as a savage act that jeopardizes educational progress.
Adamu Muhammad Duguri, the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has pledged to launch a comprehensive investigation to hold those responsible accountable.
Duguri emphasized the importance of community cooperation in safeguarding educational institutions and reiterated the government’s dedication to enhancing education through the construction and renovation of schools throughout the state.
