BUZZ: Concertgoer responds to Miranda Lambert’s selfie shaming: Felt like a ‘teacher scolding me’

The fan who was scolded by Miranda Lambert for taking a selfie with her friends at the Las Vegas concert over the weekend has spoken out.

“It felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place,” the concertgoer named Adela Calin told NBC News Monday.

“I feel like she was determined to make us look like we were young, immature and vain,” she continued. “But we were just grown women in our 30s to 60s trying to take a picture.”

Calin, who was “appalled” by the country singer’s reaction, added that the selfie took “30 seconds at most.”

“We took the picture quickly and were going to sit back down,” she said.

The social media influencer, 43, told the outlet that her group “couldn’t get one good picture” before the show started, so she asked someone to take their photo toward the end of the concert.

“We were so excited because I think we had the best seats in the house in the whole theater,” she explained.

Reps for Lambert did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

“I’m gonna stop right here for a sec,” Lambert can be heard saying in a now-viral TikTok video.

“These girls are worried about a selfie and not listening to the song, and it’s pissing me off a little bit.”

“I think her reaction was a bit rude and uncalled for,” one person tweeted.

“Now you can’t take pictures at concerts? These people need to get off their high horse,” another critic added.

The following day, Calin posted the photos in question to her Instagram.

The six women were seen smiling for the camera as Lambert performed in the background.

“These are the 2 pictures we were talking when Miranda Lambert stopped her concert and told us to sit down and not take selfies 😱,” she wrote in the caption.

When an Instagram user asked if she had left after Lambert’s comments, Calin responded that “2 of [her] friends did.”
