Kyle Richards insists her decision to not wear her wedding ring in February has “nothing to do” with her and Mauricio Umansky’s current marital woes.
“People must assume now, ‘Oh, because Kyle and Mauricio have been going through a hard time, that’s why I didn’t have my ring on,’” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star said on Amazon Live Monday.
“That’s not why I didn’t have my ring on,” she clarified, blaming the missing bling on her weight-lifting routine.
“[That] will bend the ring, ruin the ring, and it hurts,” Richards explained. “I take the ring off when I’m lifting weights.”
The Bravolebrity, 54, noted that the ring-less paparazzi pictures “sparked a lot of stuff” about her marriage while filming the show’s upcoming 13th season.
Richards previously told Page Six that the “stupid” photos made her co-stars begin to question her relationship with the 53-year-old real estate broker.
In addition to weight-lifting, she also blamed her absent ring on all the “crime these days” during the April interview.
“When this stuff would come up before, I would, like, cry, and I was devastated,” she recalled. “But now, I’m more like, ‘OK, I’ve done this before. Let’s do this. Bring it on. Come on. Let’s see what you got for me here.’”
Can’t get enough ‘Real Housewives?’
While she and Umansky were “unbothered” at the time, news broke earlier this month that the couple have separated after 27 years of marriage.
They admitted to a “challenging” year in a joint Instagram statement, adding, “We both love and respect each other tremendously. … There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part.”
The duo have continued to interact on the social media app, with Umansky posting a photo of Richards on the Fourth of July and the “Halloween” actress trolling his reading pic the following week.
Cameras have picked back up to capture the aftermath of their shocking split.
Amid rumors of Richards moving on with her friend Morgan Wade, the “Little House on the Prairie” alum has asserted that she is “just friends” with the country singer.
