BUZZ: Lisa Marie Presley’s cause of death revealed

Lisa Marie Presley died of complications from a small bowel obstruction, Page Six confirms.

According to records from the LA County Coroner’s Office, no drugs were found in her system.

Her manner of death has been ruled natural.

TMZ was first to report the news Thursday.

Presley was 54 when she passed away on Jan. 12 after suffering a cardiac arrest earlier that day.

Paramedics reportedly performed CPR on the “Lights Out” singer at her Calabasas, Calif., home before getting a pulse and transporting her to the West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Los Angeles.

It was then revealed that Presley was put on life support and placed in a medically-induced coma and is in “critical” condition.

Page Six also learned at the time that the singer-songwriter “coded multiple times.” Shortly after, Presley was pronounced dead.

According to TMZ, the only daughter of rock icon Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley had been dealing with stomach issues the week of her death.

She was then seen later that evening on the red carpet appearing unsteady during an interview with “Extra” correspondent Billy Bush.

“I’m gonna grab your arm,” the “Storm & Grace” singer told her late father’s friend Jerry Schilling, who was beside her during the interview, as she wrapped her arm around his.

Aside from that, there was no indication that Lisa Marie had been dealing with any major health struggles.

However, in 2019, she admitted for the first time that she had a history of drug abuse.

She wrote in the foreword for Harry Nelson’s book “The United States of Opioids: A Prescription for Liberating a Nation in Pain,” that she became addicted to opioids and painkillers when she welcomed her twin daughters, Harper and Finley, in 2008.

By 2013, her addiction had reportedly gotten worse and she entered rehab five times.

It was believed Lisa Marie had gotten sober in recent years. However, she deeply struggled with the death of her son, Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide.

The mother of four said in a tribute to him in October 2020, “My heart and soul went with you. The depth of the pain is suffocating and bottomless without you every moment of every day.”

She concluded, “I will never be the same. Please wait for me my love, and hold my hand while I stay to continue to protect and raise your little sisters and to be here for Riley. I know you would want that.”
