Prince William and Kate Middleton took to social media following King Charles III’s coronation Saturday with a relatable message. They captioned a short film via Twitter, which gave fans a behind-the-scenes peek inside their day with kids Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, with “What. A. Day.” followed by “Thank you to everyone who made it happen #Coronation.” The video featured multiple clips with their youngest son, Louis, looking animatedly at the camera, as well as the family leaving their Kensington Palace home in coronation regalia and getting into a horse-drawn carriage en route to Westminster Abbey. Another image showed the royal family on the Buckingham Palace balcony waving to the crowds from inside their gilded carriage.
The couple were joined by their kids on the historic day and the trio of mini royals waved to onlookers from their carriage. On Sunday, the Prince and Princess of Wales kept the celebrations going by joining locals for lunch outside Windsor Castle. Kate opted for a blue Reiss blazer with a white top, black trousers and sneakers. They spent time talking to locals, while sipping out of Union Jack-themed cups.
Prince Louis was the real star of King Charles III’s coronation weekend with his meme-able faces, almost one year after his behavior at Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee went viral. Throughout the day, he waved enthusiastically and made faces at onlookers, while showing off his tiredness with a series of epic yawns. One month before the coronation, a palace insider told Page Six the mini-royal’s attendance was up in the air, explaining, “He’s only 4, after all.” The youngster, who turned 5 on April 23, notably wasn’t present at his great-grandmother’s funeral in September 2022.
