Toni Braxton recently underwent a “traumatic” heart procedure after suffering a complication from lupus. She admitted that she had been putting off her routine blood and urine tests, only to find out last September that she had some “abnormalities”. The doctors told her that her left main coronary artery was 80 percent blocked, and that she could have had a massive heart attack if she had not gone in for the tests.
Two days after hearing the news, Toni underwent surgery to place a stent in her heart. She remained in the hospital for a couple of nights to recover. She now looks at the experience as a “blessing in disguise” and is more diligent about getting her tests done.
Six months after her surgery, Toni told People that her family is keeping her health and spirits up. She admits that there are good days and bad days, but she always tries to be optimistic. The singer has made a full recovery.
