DJ Akademik has made allegations suggesting that Cardi B was unfaithful to her husband while expecting a child, reportedly involving an NFL player, believed by fans to be Stefon Diggs. So, what do we really know about these claims that are trending online?
Cardi B previously acknowledged that she “talked to other men” during her pregnancy with Offset’s child before Akademiks alleged she had an affair with an NFL star, without revealing the player’s identity but mentioning he was part of his fantasy team. Many suspect this player to be Diggs from the Houston Texans.
“I heard who the person was that Offset allegedly caught Cardi B with,” DJ Akademiks told his audience. “This guy is unbelievable.
“I wonder how he manages to have time for his regular job. I want to share more, but I can’t just yet. I’ll give you a hint: he’s not a rapper; he’s an NFL player. If I were Offset, I wouldn’t be able to support that team anymore.”
When faced with Akademiks’ accusations, the 31-year-old singer didn’t dismiss the rumor outright. Instead, she chose to respond with a clip from Whitney Houston’s interview with Diane Sawyer, featuring the line, “But do you really know? Do you really know?”.
Another account on X.com, previously Twitter, echoed DJ Akademiks’ claims, adding that Cardi B and Offset weren’t on good terms at the time of the alleged incident.
Offset had earlier suggested on Instagram Live that Cardi had been unfaithful while pregnant, urging her to “tell the truth,” leading her to share private messages from their exchanges.
She posted conversations on her Instagram Stories, showing Offset allegedly asking to “jack off” while on call and other instances of them bickering in comments, wherein she mentioned Offset pleaded for contact after being blocked.
But what about Offset’s alleged infidelity? Reports also suggest that he has cheated on Cardi B with at least nine different women, adding more intrigue to the drama.
Are Cardi B and Offset still married?
Cardi B and Offset began their relationship in 2017, marrying the same year, and welcomed three children amidst a tumultuous on-and-off relationship, with Cardi announcing in December 2023 that they were separated.
However, their marital status became confusing after she filed for divorce in July 2024, just a day after revealing she was pregnant with their third child.
She gave birth on September 7, which coincides with new controversies that have raised further questions about their relationship.
