Marvel Cinematic Universe actress Dakota Johnson has shut down rumors about her split with Coldplay’s Chris Martin and confirmed that they are happily together, putting an end to speculations about their relationship status.
They have been a couple since 2017 and residing in Malibu, California. Recent reports of a breakup surfaced on August 16, but sightings of the pair together as late as June 2024 at Glastonbury contradicted these claims.
Speculations intensified as actress Dakota Johnson was absent from Coldplay’s European “Music of the Spheres” tour, and there were claims of her not wearing her wedding ring. However, her representative has clarified the situation.
“The reports are not true,” stated Johnson’s representative to PageSix.com on August 16. “They are happily together.”
The Strong Bond Between Johnson and Martin
Despite keeping their relationship relatively private, Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are frequently seen together at various events. Both have grown close to each other’s families, a sign of their strong bond, with marriage on the horizon as indicated by Johnson wearing her green engagement ring.
They share a deep trust. Despite Martin’s previous marriage to Gwenyth Paltrow, Johnson has embraced Martin’s co-parenting relationship with Paltrow and their children, often seen vacationing together alongside Paltrow’s current partner.
“I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart,” Johnson expressed about Martin and Paltrow’s children. “I grew up in a family that was so big, and I just believe in the saying ‘Blood is thicker than water.’
“The actual saying is, ‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb,’ which means that the connections with people you choose are more solid than the connections to the people you’re actually born to.”
