David Beckham is getting into the holiday spirit by playfully referencing the beloved tradition of Elf on the Shelf.
The retired soccer star, 49, posted a funny video on Instagram showing his family’s unique interpretation of the Christmas tradition. Watch the video below.

In the video, Beckham enters his office one December morning only to find it decorated in a festive manner by playful Scout Elves.
“Good morning! I just walked into my office, which is usually quite neat, but something happened overnight… there’s a mess everywhere,” he remarked, pointing at the little elves scattered around his desk and speakers.
He ended with a lighthearted comment: “It’s definitely starting to feel like Christmas in here!”
In his video caption, Beckham humorously stated, “This is spiraling out of control… clearly, it’s Christmas time in the office!”
His post struck a chord with many viewers familiar with the creativity and effort that goes into maintaining the Elf on the Shelf tradition, which has become common in families all over the world.
Originating in 2005, the game entails parents placing elves in playful or creative setups for children to discover each morning.
Even the creators, Chanda Bell and Christa Pitts, suggest keeping things simple.
“It shouldn’t be too elaborate,” noted Bell, highlighting that the ultimate goal of the tradition is to foster joyful family moments.
For Beckham, who has four children—Brooklyn, 25; Romeo, 22; Cruz, 19; and Harper, 13—with his wife Victoria, the Elf on the Shelf fun is a way to honor the magic of the season.
This cheerful post comes after a tough week for the star, as he remembered Kath Phipps, a cherished Manchester United receptionist who dedicated over 55 years to the club.
Beckham paid tribute to her on Instagram, referring to her as “the heartbeat of Manchester United.”
