Demi Moore recently spoke candidly about Bruce Willis’ current struggle with dementia, sharing thoughts that have sparked some discussion.
In a conversation with CNN, the 62-year-old actress elaborated on her ex-husband’s ongoing health issues.
Willis was diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022 and has largely withdrawn from public life since then. According to Moore, Bruce is currently stable, and she encourages people supporting those with dementia to do so with compassion and positivity.
“Considering the circumstances, he’s doing very well right now,” Moore expressed to CNN. “I genuinely believe that it’s crucial for anyone involved in this situation to connect with them at their level, which can bring about love and joy.”
She mentioned that witnessing a loved one endure such challenges is “incredibly tough” and “not something I would wish on anyone.”
Moore also highlighted some positive aspects amidst the challenges, saying, “While there are significant losses, there’s also beauty and gifts that can emerge from this experience.”

History of Moore and Willis
Moore and Willis tied the knot in 1987 and separated in 2000. They are parents to three daughters: Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30.
After their divorce, Willis married Emma Heming Willis in 2009, and together they have two daughters: Mable, 12, and Evelyn, 10.
Willis’ family publicly disclosed his health condition in March 2022 via an Instagram post, which revealed he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD)—a progressive condition affecting behavior, language, and everyday function.
“To Bruce’s wonderful supporters, as a family, we want everyone to know that our dear Bruce has encountered health complications and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, impacting his cognitive abilities,” they announced in a collaborative Instagram statement.
“After careful thought, Bruce has decided to step back from a career that has been incredibly meaningful to him.
“This is a tough period for our family, and we are grateful for the ongoing love, compassion, and support we’ve received.
“We are navigating this together as a strong family, and wanted to include his fans because we understand the significance he holds for you, just as you do for him. Bruce often says, ‘Live it up,’ and we intend to embrace that mindset together.”
The family recently celebrated Thanksgiving together, with Bruce sharing a heartfelt moment with his daughters that they posted on social media.
