Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made a touching family appearance at the Moana 2 premiere in Hawaii, accompanied by his three daughters.
This event showcased a gentler side of the 52-year-old actor, who shared the spotlight with his wife, Lauren Hashian, and daughters Simone (23), Jasmine (8), and Tiana (6), on Thursday. The family garnered attention in their vibrant outfits, radiating joy as they celebrated the much-anticipated sequel to the 2016 Disney classic.
Dressed to impress in a chic mint green suit with a traditional Hawaiian lei, Johnson expressed his appreciation for the event’s cultural importance. He wrote on Instagram, “It’s a crazy full-circle moment. Bringing the Moana 2 premiere to Hawaii, where all of this began, is both humbling and honoring. It’s a celebration of our ancestors, culture, and shared joy.”
A family celebration
His eldest daughter, Simone, wore an elegant floral dress, while Jasmine and Tiana showcased bright, coordinated outfits. The premiere was a joyful occasion, also featuring Johnson’s mother, Ata Johnson.
Adding to the excitement, Johnson shared that Jasmine and Tiana lent their voices to characters in Moana 2, affectionately nicknamed “Moana-Bes.” In an Instagram clip, he humorously remarked, “You both outshine Daddy,” while Hashian described the day as “the sweetest and most fun day ever.”
Returning to Maui
In Moana 2, Johnson reprises his beloved role as Maui, the charismatic demigod. The sequel comes eight years after the original film captivated audiences with themes of self-discovery and pride in one’s culture.
