Sir Elton John shared the news of his recent struggle with a severe eye infection that has left him with restricted vision in one eye during the summer months.
In a statement on his Instagram account, the 77-year-old singer expressed, “Over the summer, I have been dealing with a serious eye infection that has unfortunately left me with limited vision in one eye,” as reported by Page Six.
Sir Elton John added, “I am recovering, but it is an extremely slow process and it will be some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”
The singer expressed his gratitude towards his medical team and his family, especially his husband David Furnish, and sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, for taking care of him during this difficult period.
Having spent the summer at home recuperating, Sir Elton John is optimistic about the progress made in his healing journey so far.
His message concluded with a heartfelt farewell of “love and gratitude.”
