A fire destroyed a section of singer Marc Anthony’s extravagant residence dubbed ‘El Oasis’ in an exclusive area in the Dominican Republic. The property is situated in La Romana, a renowned location where celebrities like Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Justin Bieber also own homes.
The local media verified that the fire occurred early Thursday morning when neither the singer nor his partner, model Nadia Ferreira, were present. Despite the quick arrival of firefighters five minutes after the fire began, a significant part of the property was consumed.
Social media images depicted a massive column of smoke that caught the attention of emergency services during the early hours of the day.
Initial accounts suggest the fire was triggered by a short circuit, rapidly escalating and necessitating a significant firefighting effort. Fortunately, the main house, with lavish features and state-of-the-art technology, remained unscathed.
This property was the venue for Marc Anthony’s wedding to Shannon de Lima in 2014 and in 2021 hosted the Telemundo reality show ‘Por amor o por dinero’.
A spokesperson for the 55-year-old Puerto Rican artist informed The New York Post, stating, “The fire originated on the left side of the property, where the four bungalows intended for guest accommodation are situated.”
They disclosed that three of the bungalows and a living area were ravaged by the flames, reassuring that “the primary residence was untouched, and an investigation is underway by the fire department.”
Confirming that Marc and his family were not in the country, the representative expressed gratitude for the swift response of emergency services, despite requiring two hours to contain the fire.
Marc Anthony’s Opulent Estate in Venezuela
Marc Anthony acquired this residence in 2014 while married to Shannon de Lima, from whom he separated in 2017. Last year, Anthony married Nadia Ferreira.
The property, featured in Architectural Digest in 2017, spans around 10,000 square feet, accommodating up to 24 individuals. It boasts two pools, two artificial beaches, expansive gardens, various entertainment pavilions, home theaters, artwork by Fernando Varela, stone sculptures, and a close proximity to the Caribbean Sea.
Reports from Hola! magazine indicate that the singer typically uses the estate to host family and friends during summer, spring vacations, and holiday seasons.
