One notable presence was Snoop Dogg, the renowned rapper who took on the role of a correspondent for NBC Olympics. His unique charm brought excitement to the event, engaging with athletes like Simone Biles and Noah Lyles. However, Snoop revealed that his time in Paris was not without its difficulties.
NBC Olympics appointed Snoop Dogg as a special correspondent for the Paris Games, involving him in commentary, hosting, and even the symbolic act of carrying the Olympic torch through Saint-Denis. True to his style, he entertained the crowd by performing his famous Crip Walk while holding the torch, ensuring attention was drawn to his memorable moments.
Snoop’s hectic schedule made it challenging for him during the Olympics. In an interview with Esquire, he expressed the tough demands of his role:
I was in Paris, several hours ahead of everyone else, likely shooting the next segment. I didn’t get to enjoy the highlights or really experience everything because I was racing against time.
Despite the entertainment he brought to audiences, Snoop acknowledged that he missed experiencing the event as a spectator.
Unforgettable moments with Simone Biles
A standout moment for Snoop was witnessing Simone Biles’ impressive performances. The gymnastics legend secured multiple medals, leaving Snoop astonished. His reaction to one of her breathtaking jumps quickly became a meme, as he donned a custom Biles T-shirt, wide-eyed in admiration.
On The Jennifer Hudson Show, Snoop recounted, “Simone Biles jumped about 13 feet in the air. I’ve never seen anything like that.”
During the Games, Snoop shared a bond with the gymnast, even attending her father’s birthday celebration and gifting him a customized Death Row Records pendant.
