Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might need to leave their $29 million residence as wildfires threaten Southern California.
The couple relocated to Montecito, California, in 2020. However, with wildfires spreading nearby, they may soon face power outages at their home.
According to reports from The Telegraph, Southern California Edison (SCE) mentioned they are contemplating a “Public Safety Power Shutoff” in areas of Santa Barbara County due to the wildfire threat.
The utility company has reached out to those affected, which includes Harry and Meghan and their neighbors.

The Sussexes acquired their residence during the summer of 2020 for $14.65 million, but its market value has since soared to $29 million, as noted by Zillow.
The property boasts nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, with high-profile neighbors such as Oprah Winfrey and, until recently, Ellen DeGeneres.
As reported on Wednesday, approximately 70,000 SCE customers are currently experiencing power outages, with over 35,000 of these in Los Angeles County. An additional 779 outages affecting about 42,000 more customers are projected soon.
The couple’s residence is situated around 70 miles from the nearest wildfire, which is currently affecting the Malibu region.
More than 30,000 individuals, including several celebrities, have been ordered to evacuate, leading to severe traffic congestion in the area.
