More than twenty years since Brad Pitt guest-starred on Friends while married to Jennifer Aniston, he is now reconnecting with her long-time friend and co-star, Courteney Cox.
In light of this rekindled friendship, reports suggest that Pitt is organizing double dates with Cox and their respective partners, which has reportedly left Aniston feeling upset and excluded, according to an insider for In Touch.
A source stated, “Brad and Courteney had a strong bond during his marriage to Jen. They spent a lot of time together but lost touch after Brad‘s split from Jen when he started dating Angelina Jolie. However, they have recently reconnected as if nothing happened.”
During his marriage to Aniston from 2000 to 2005, Pitt‘s relationship with Jolie emerged, contributing to his highly publicized divorce.
Even though Aniston has since moved on and married, then divorced actor Justin Theroux, the renewal of her friendship with Pitt is now challenged by Cox‘s growing closeness to him, which makes Aniston feel somewhat left out.
Recently, the pair was seen at a fundraising event in September, appearing friendly and engaged in conversation, surprising many who are aware of their past.
According to a source, “Cox would not rekindle her friendship with Pitt without Aniston‘s blessing. Following Pitt‘s divorce from Jolie, he and Aniston reestablished ties, and she informed friends that it was acceptable to socialize with him again.”
Double Dates Increase Tension
What initially appeared to be a harmless revival of old friendships has turned uncomfortable for Aniston.
Reports indicate Pitt has been trying to set up double dates with Cox, her partner Johnny McDaid, and his girlfriend, Ines De Ramon, adding to Aniston’s discomfort.
As an insider stated, “Pitt is very eager to arrange these double dates, but Aniston didn’t foresee this renewed closeness between Pitt and Cox, making her feel somewhat neglected.”
Cox has been in a relationship with musician McDaid since 2013 and often praises him, while he refers to Cox as his “best friend and partner.”
Additionally, the source revealed that Pitt and McDaid hit it off, further complicating things for Aniston.
“Aniston is trying to remain composed, but she didn’t expect this depth of friendship between Pitt and Cox,” the source shared. “She feels frustration towards Pitt for his disregard and Cox’s involvement has made things harder.”
Although Jennifer Aniston permitted her friends to reconnect with Pitt, the situation has proven more challenging than anticipated, with Pitt and Cox’s growing bond leaving her feeling increasingly isolated.
