Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is overjoyed, having recently announced his engagement to Bryonna ‘Bry’ Rivera Burrows. Their relationship began in January 2023 and blossomed quickly following the Eagles’ victory in the NFC Championship against the 49ers.
Before going public with their engagement, Hurts kept his personal life private, focusing his Instagram on his professional endeavors and charity work. He only began sharing personal moments after their engagement was official.
In an interview with Essence two months post-engagement, Hurts revealed that his relationship with Burrows had a history of dating on and off since their days at the University of Alabama, culminating in their engagement.

During the interview, Hurts expressed that he felt a deep connection with Burrows early on: “I knew a long time ago” she was meant for him, adding that this feeling was significant in their relationship’s progression.
Since their engagement, Bry has been a consistent supporter of Hurts, attending events with him, including the season opener in Rio de Janeiro, where the Eagles faced off against the Green Bay Packers in September, marking another milestone in their relationship.
Insights into Bry Burrows’ Background
Hurts and Burrows first met while studying at the University of Alabama, where Hurts excelled as the college football team’s quarterback from 2016 to 2018 before transferring to the University of Oklahoma.
Their initial meeting occurred at the Alabama Greek picnic, with Burrows being part of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. and Hurts belonging to Omega Psi Phi, Inc..
Burrows graduated with a degree in Spanish and political science in 2017 and later obtained an MBA from Alabama’s Manderson School of Business.
She began her professional journey at IBM as a senior customer experience consultant and has progressively advanced to roles such as sales executive and leader in software financing, now serving as a partner in artificial intelligence.
The couple shares a commitment to philanthropy, with Bry actively supporting initiatives aimed at encouraging youth to pursue technology careers. She has been involved in educational programs like the IBM Accelerate initiative in 2022, which aids students from minority backgrounds in transitioning to the workforce, and advocates for diversity and inclusion.
Also an outdoor enthusiast, Bry has remarked on her extroverted nature and her love of nature on social media. The pair attended the Time100 Next Gala together in October 2023, where Bry was notably recognized, showcasing an elegant black suit.
Since their engagement last September, Bry has proudly displayed her engagement ring, which was presented in a romantic setting filled with candles, a violinist, and red roses during a vacation prior to the NFL season. Shortly after, they made a stylish appearance together at The Evolution of the Black Quarterback event in New York City.
