She owns 10 horses, including four Friesians and five Sicilian donkeys, which can cost up to $8,000 each yearly for their upkeep. Her animal family also includes dogs, cats, chickens, geese, and even peafowl. In a recent blog post, she mentioned having over 45 canaries along with numerous chickens. Reflecting on her extensive collection, she casually stated, “I have, oh, hundreds and hundreds of pets.”
Martha appears unbothered by the expenses related to caring for her animals, stating that they provide her with companionship and joy. Friends have humorously suggested they’d like to be reincarnated as one of her pets, and she shares the sentiment, appreciating their presence in her life.
