Five years ago, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle entered into partnership with Netflix, aiming for significant achievements. Their initial project proved to be quite successful, but their later endeavors did not reach the same heights. Following the delay of the premiere for “With Love, Meghan,” a company executive addressed the couple’s status on the platform.
“Harry & Meghan” was a major success, offering a detailed account of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s journey from their initial meetings to the controversial “Megxit.” The unexpected popularity of the series seemed to signal promising prospects for the couple, yet their following ventures did not perform as well.
Despite the production of documentaries focusing on polo and the Invictus Games—two of Harry’s keen interests—these efforts faded into the background on Netflix. Nevertheless, Bela Bajaria, the streaming service’s Chief Content Officer, expressed enthusiasm about “With Love, Meghan” and their ongoing partnership with the Sussexes.
Excitement for Meghan’s New Show
In a chat with the Daily Mail, Bajaria referred to Markle’s upcoming program as “fantastic.” She described it as a valuable lifestyle show that highlights California, Montecito, and the beauty of nature.
Bajaria shared her enthusiasm for the cooking and lifestyle series, stating, “It has wonderful takeaways. I thought, ‘I really want to try making that pasta.’ There’s lots of great insights on life, and I’m very excited for its release.”
“With Love, Meghan,” will debut on March 4, having been pushed back due to the wildfires that affected California earlier this year. The show has been officially greenlit, and another project involving Markle—a film adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel “Meet Me At the Lake.”—is also in the pipeline.
Bajaria confirmed that the adaptation is currently under development, emphasizing, “It’s a wonderful book. We’re thrilled to be part of it.” Additionally, she indicated that more projects featuring Harry and Meghan are on the horizon.
The Sussexes’ Prospects with Netflix
The executive remarked, “We have several projects in the pipeline, and everyone is enthusiastic about what lies ahead. I am personally very excited for her show.” This signals that Harry and Meghan’s future with Netflix appears secure.
While the new series has sparked media interest, the platform’s audience seems less enthusiastic. With the launch just a month away, it won’t be long before we learn whether Netflix and the Sussexes’ collaboration will bring lucrative results.
