Robert Pattinson, widely recognized for his performance in ‘Twilight’, is set to reprise his role as the ‘Dark Knight‘ in ‘The Batman‘, with the latest film having launched in 2022.
In a recent discussion with The New York Times, Pattinson revealed that he might consider concluding his acting journey after finishing his trilogy directed by Matt Reeves, igniting significant interest among fans and within the film sector.
Pattinson shared that retirement is a thought he is entertaining as he wraps up the three films detailed in his agreement, with the second movie set to premiere in 2026. He specifically noted, “I really might be retiring at the end of them,” reflecting on his surprising longevity in the industry: “I never would have thought in a million years that I’d still be doing this when I got my first job. I can’t believe this is still going on,” he added.
An Eventful Journey Since ‘Twilight’
Having been in the film industry for over ten years, Pattinson emphasized the importance of remaining focused on the core aspects of his profession: “The most important thing is to constantly remember what your job is. It’s a discipline not to use your energy on anything other than that.”
Pattinson skyrocketed to fame as Edward Cullen in ‘Twilight‘ and has since starred in numerous critically acclaimed films such as ‘Good Time’, ‘The Lighthouse’, and Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’. He is also slated to appear in Bong Joon-ho’s anticipated sci-fi feature ‘Mickey 17’, which is now due for release on January 31, 2025.
If he indeed decides to retire, it would be a surprising move at a prime point in his career, having transitioned from a teenage star in ‘Twilight‘ and ‘Harry Potter‘ to one of the standout actors of his generation.
