Jamie Foxx expressed gratitude to his fans for their support after an incident on his 57th birthday, where he required stitches due to being struck in the face by a thrown glass while dining at a Los Angeles restaurant.
Famous for portraying Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man films, Foxx appeared to be in good spirits only days after the altercation that happened at Mr. Chow.
Reports suggest that the glass was thrown at Foxx intentionally, linking it to past allegations of sexual misconduct against him. Local authorities are now investigating the situation.
Despite the incident, Foxx, who has also achieved success in music, remarked that he feels fortunate and unbothered by the events of December 13. He shared on Instagram, “The devil is busy, but I’m too blessed to be stressed. Thank you to everyone who prayed and checked on me.”
He also added, “When your light shines brightly, some will try to cast shadows, not realizing you are equipped to handle it. The brightness continues.”
Overview of the Incident at Mr. Chow on December 13
The Beverly Hills Police Department received a report of an assault involving a potentially lethal weapon, but later stated that this claim was found to be “unfounded.” It was confirmed, however, that there was a physical confrontation.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues. Witnesses noted that some patrons were disrespectful toward Foxx, who had asked for privacy while dining with his family.
Earlier, Foxx had been seen signing autographs and expressed thankfulness for his life after recovering from a serious brain bleed that had him hospitalized for several weeks earlier this year.
