An audio recording from a leaked phone call between the two actresses showed Jane’s apprehensions to Jennifer about her rekindled relationship with Ben Affleck.

Jane Fonda cautioned Jennifer, stating, “It’s like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living it.”
Expressing her worry that the couple was overly focused on displaying a perfect image of their relationship, Jane mentioned, “In all the photos, you’re kissing and hugging,” to which Jennifer defended, “That’s how we live our life.”
Jennifer explained Jane’s protective nature but agreed that it could lead to public scrutiny, which she wanted to avoid.
“You’re exposing yourself to be hurt again,” Fonda warned, to which Lopez confessed, “It’s exciting and also scary… I don’t know how to do it any other way.”
