A U-Haul truck was recently seen outside the Beverly Hills mansion of celebrities Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, indicating a significant step in their separation. Reports suggest that Lopez has made the decision to leave the vast property, finding it uncomfortable after their split.
According to sources, the home, originally bought for their combined family, has become too large and emotionally challenging for Lopez. She has been actively looking for a new place since May but has not yet found the right fit.
On the other hand, Affleck has taken a step forward by buying a $20.5 million mansion in Brentwood on July 24, which coincided with Lopez’s 55th birthday.
Mansion for Sale
The couple, who officially separated on April 26, had initially purchased the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom Crestview Manor for $60.85 million in May 2023. The property, situated on a five-acre lot, once symbolized their future together but now represents their past.
The mansion, currently with a $20 million mortgage, was put on the market in July for $68 million but is yet to be sold. It boasts luxurious amenities like a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, a caretaker’s house, and a guard house.
Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, which would have been their second wedding anniversary. With no prenuptial agreement in place, their assets acquired during marriage are subject to division as community property.
According to documents from PEOPLE, Lopez cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, with the separation date noted as April 26.
Lopez filed the paperwork without legal representation. The couple tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022 and had a larger celebration in Georgia the following month, reportedly without a prenuptial agreement.
