Directed by Bill Condon, this film is based on a novel by Argentine author Manuel Puig, set during a time of dictatorship in Argentina, making it a significant endeavor for Lopez.

Lopez shared her inspiration for pursuing a career in entertainment, recalling that her mother introduced her to classic films like West Side Story, which sparked her passion. “I was fascinated and thought, ‘That’s what I want to do,'” she told Variety.

JLo’s Outfit Inspired by Her Latest Film

At the film’s premiere, Jennifer Lopez showcased a unique style known as method dressing, where she dressed to reflect her character, generating buzz around the movie. This approach has been employed by stars like Margot Robbie for her role in Barbie and Zendaya for movies like Challengers and Dune 2.

JLo’s striking outfit featured a design by Valdrin Ahiti, resembling a web with its spider-like details, reminiscent of Zendaya’s previous looks. Additionally, she wore a sleek black dress embellished with shiny beads, further tying it to her character and the film.

Her ensemble was completed with platform heels, elegant jewelry by Hassanzadeh, and an unusual hairstyle that brought back memories of Pamela Anderson’s iconic looks from the 90s.

This “spider” aesthetic echoed Zendaya’s appearance in a similar outfit for the premiere of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where she wore a striking Armani Prive design.

Moreover, Dakota Johnson also embraced this theme, sporting a transparent design by Annie’s Ibiza at the Brazilian event for the movie Madame Web.
