Directed by Bill Condon, this film is based on a novel by Argentine author Manuel Puig, set during a time of dictatorship in Argentina, making it a significant endeavor for Lopez.
Lopez shared her inspiration for pursuing a career in entertainment, recalling that her mother introduced her to classic films like West Side Story, which sparked her passion. “I was fascinated and thought, ‘That’s what I want to do,'” she told Variety.
At the film’s premiere, Jennifer Lopez showcased a unique style known as method dressing, where she dressed to reflect her character, generating buzz around the movie. This approach has been employed by stars like Margot Robbie for her role in Barbie and Zendaya for movies like Challengers and Dune 2.
