The Joe Rogan podcast has had a wide variety of guests, especially after hosting President-elect Donald Trump. Recently, actor Josh Brolin joined the show and discussed the fascinating circumstances surrounding Sean Penn‘s meeting with notorious drug lord El Chapo Guzman, who was once Mexico’s most wanted.
After Trump, other prominent figures, including billionaire X and Tesla CEO, as well as Vice President JD Vance, have also appeared. In episode #2232 of the Joe Rogan Experience, Brolin shared his thoughts on why Sean Penn chose to interview El Chapo at his hideout in the Sinaloa mountains back in 2015, an encounter that was later detailed in Rolling Stone magazine.
“You get to a point where things feel stagnant, the weather’s too nice… and you think, let’s shake things up a bit. Let’s do something significant that will be remembered,” Brolin reflected, highlighting Penn’s bold decision to seek out this risky meeting.

According to an article from Essentially Sports, Joe Rogan mentioned that Sean Penn‘s actions inadvertently aided in the capture of El Chapo by giving authorities insights into his location.
“When you take your cell phone, you’re practically carrying a tracking device while trying to approach one of the most infamous criminals around,” Joe Rogan remarked on his podcast.
