Kate Middleton Shows Off Her “Huge Hands” During Heartwarming Hospice Visit with Children

Kate Middleton has a genuine connection with children, which was clearly evident during her recent royal engagement. On a delightful day at Ty Hafan children’s hospice in South Wales, the Princess of Wales participated in a “stay and play” session, creating lasting memories with children and their families who face significant challenges.

This visit was marked by warmth and joy, with one particular moment bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. As Kate left her literal imprint on the hospice’s walls, she humorously shared a remark about her hands.

A memorable moment

Kate was invited to create a handprint to commemorate her visit, and she began by assisting four-year-old Maggie, whose 12-year-old brother Felix has a rare condition. Kate gently painted Maggie’s hand with red paint while playfully asking, “Is this ticklish? My kids enjoy this – I did it with them at home earlier today.”

Next, it was Kate’s turn. Ten-year-old Lottie, Maggie’s sister, painted the Princess’s hand, covering her fingers and palm with bright red paint. When Kate pressed her hand against the wall and lifted it, she exclaimed with laughter: “It’s enormous!”

A memorable handprint with significance

This charming experience served as a heartfelt illustration of Kate’s warmth and ability to relate to everyone around her, including the children and families who are experiencing difficulties. The handprint will remain on the hospice wall as a symbol of this touching day.

Given Kate’s recent health issues that made waves in 2024, this visit held even more significance for her. She dedicated time to comfort the affected children, engaging in play with them for hours and speaking with families who benefited from the hospice’s support.

This visit was also historic, as Kate becomes the new official patron of Ty Hafan, taking over from Princess Diana, who held the role until her tragic passing in 1997. This marks Kate’s first trip to Wales after her cancer treatment, and she feels privileged to uphold her royal duties in such a meaningful way.
