Kayla mentioned that she initially did not foresee the consequences following her podcast appearance with the WNBA star.

After the episode aired, she felt she had navigated the situation well. “I thought I managed it gracefully,” she stated during her recent appearance on “I Am Athlete.”

She reassured the hosts that she felt confident in her responses on Angel Reese’s podcast.

“I believe I answered the questions to the best of my ability. How the audience perceived it? I was indifferent,” Nicole expressed.

However, everything shifted when her mother reached out in tears.

“When my mom called, it struck me hard…she was upset, worried about how others treated her daughter online, and distressed by the harsh headlines,” Kayla shared.

She also mentioned her mother’s sage advice for the future.

“She suggested that perhaps next time, I should skip those questions. It’s that straightforward: conserve your energy. You don’t have to respond every time,” Nicole recounted.
