Keanu Reeves experienced a tough situation in 2023 when his luxury watch collection was taken from his home in Los Angeles. However, there’s a chance he might recover them as they have been located 5,600 miles away in Chile.
The 60-year-old actor, famous for his work in The Matrix and John Wick, reported a burglary during the Christmas season. Recently, police in Santiago have announced they believe they have located the stolen items.
According to reports by CNN, authorities have retrieved a Rolex Submariner valued at $9,000, which was gifted to Reeves in honor of his role as John Wick. They also found three other pricey watches.
A 21-year-old suspect has been apprehended, but it’s still unclear whether he directly participated in the burglary or just came into possession of the stolen items a year later.
The collaborative effort between Chilean and U.S. officials led to this recovery, successfully linking the watches to the break-ins at Reeves’ home in California.
What’s next for John Wick?
The Los Angeles Police Department noted that this 2023 theft was the third instance of his property being violated. In a previous incident from September 2014, a woman in her 40s was apprehended and sent for treatment after attempting to break in twice.
Shortly thereafter, another woman was discovered in his swimming pool, just a month before the debut of the first John Wick film, which grossed $86 million. Since then, Reeves has earned $22 million from his portrayal across four films.
The upcoming addition to the John Wick series is set to premiere in June 2025, featuring Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro. She will share the screen with Norman Reedus (known from The Walking Dead), Ian McShane, and Reeves himself.
