Kelly Clarkson’s Hosting Performance at the 2024 Olympics Receives Backlash from Fans

Kelly Clarkson's Cringe Hosting Skills At 2024 Olympics Didn't Earn Any Medals From Fans

Excited about the role, Clarkson shared her anticipation of watching the games with fellow Americans. In an interview with “Today,” she mentioned, “It’s going to be a really good time, and I think that’s the fun of it, we are watching with everyone. Like we have seen the rehearsal of it a bit, but we actually get to be there with everybody and watching and reacting with everybody.” However, Clarkson’s hosting during the opening ceremony didn’t resonate well with viewers.

As the opening ceremony unfolded on July 26, Clarkson added her own commentary and reactions to the performances and athletes along the Seine River. Unfortunately, internet users found her commentary exaggerated and were unimpressed by her hosting skills.

Criticism of Kelly Clarkson’s Commentary at the Olympics

The 2024 Paris Olympic opening ceremony offered a plethora of visual spectacles, from a headless Marie Antoinette to a performance by Lady Gaga. Amidst the excitement, Clarkson’s continuous commentary drew criticism. The musician faced social media backlash for talking over performances and making unnecessary remarks.

One individual expressed on X, formerly Twitter, “These opening ceremonies would be more fun if Kelly Clarkson didn’t react to everything that’s happened like she’s never left her house before.” Clarkson bore the brunt of criticism as viewers favored her co-hosts, Peyton Manning and Mike Tirico. Another online user stated on X, “Is there going to be a point where Kelly Clarkson stops talking? I’d rather listen to Peyton talk about Baguettes non-stop than hearing her say, ‘this is cool,’ over and over.”

Clarkson faced harsh feedback on social media for her hosting commentary during the event. However, viewers relieved to know that her hosting duties were solely for the opening ceremony and not the subsequent events.
