On Monday, January 20, the much-anticipated inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump will occur in Washington DC. This event promises to be significant and will feature a host of special guests, both in attendance and performing.
The inauguration ceremony for the businessman and politician’s second term will showcase several Republican-affiliated stars, particularly those close to Trump. Instead of the traditional outdoor setting, the festivities will be held inside the Capitol Rotunda due to the chilly temperatures in the capital.
Unlike Joe Biden’s previous ceremony featuring Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez, this time Trump has recruited popular country music artists to perform.
National Anthem to Feature a Notable Performer
A highlight of the ceremony will be the performance of the national anthem by opera singer Christopher Macchio, who previously starred in the 2020 Republican National Convention. He will honor the occasion by singing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’.
Carrie Underwood will perform ‘America the Beautiful’, joined by the Armed Forces Choir and Glee Club from the United States Naval Academy.
A Familiar Face for a Memorable Performance
Country music legend Lee Greenwood will sing his iconic song “God Bless the USA”, marking a memorable moment. He expressed his excitement, stating, “The president has been a friend of Kimberly (Payne) – his wife – and mine for many years, and this is one of the most historic moments of our lives,” as reported by USA TODAY.
Additionally, the celebrated group the Village People will also perform, despite their mixed feelings about Trump.
