However, she will be joined by Affleck’s close friend, Matt Damon, as they unveil their sports drama, “Unstoppable,” at the festival. Sources have confirmed that Damon will be in attendance for the film’s premiere.
The movie was produced by Artists Equity, a company owned by Affleck and Damon. Additionally, Lopez has a supporting role in the film, which is inspired by the true story of wrestler Anthony Robles.
In the drama, Lopez portrays Robles’ mother alongside actors like Jharrel Jerome, Michael Pena, and Don Cheadle. Despite Affleck’s absence at the premiere in Canada due to his split from Lopez, the “Hustlers” star is set to attend the red carpet event. Director William Goldenberg recently disclosed that Lopez was cast prior to their separation, emphasizing that her selection was unrelated to their marriage. He stated, “I felt like Jennifer was one of the few actresses who could play the part as she had to be somebody who’s lived a life.”
“I think that she was right for it, and it was also serendipity that he happened to be married to the person we sort of wanted all along anyway,” he remarked.
