Meghan Markle is said to be facing difficulties within Hollywood, as reports indicate that some powerful figures have been unresponsive to her attempts to reach out.
This situation comes to light as several of her projects have been either delayed or scrapped, sparking concerns about her career in the entertainment industry following her time as a royal.
Since leaving her royal role in 2020, Markle has explored various creative campaigns. However, her journey in Hollywood has not been smooth.
Reports from The Times suggest that her Spotify podcast series, Archetypes, was discontinued after just a dozen episodes last year.
Additionally, a cooking show on Netflix, filmed last summer, has not yet been released. Furthermore, her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, is facing delays due to issues with trademark registrations.
Changes in Hollywood’s landscape
Tom Sykes, the European editor for The Daily Beast, pointed out a noticeable change in Hollywood’s regard for Markle, mentioning that some industry heavyweights who once championed her have become less responsive.
Paula Froelich, an entertainment journalist for NewsNation, supported this notion.
“When there’s no financial gain, your significance diminishes. People in LA tend to shrug at such situations,” she commented.
Initially, Markle and Prince Harry attracted significant interest from Hollywood figures after stepping back from royal duties, landing substantial contracts with Netflix and Spotify.
Still, their projects have struggled to gain traction and yield strong outcomes, prompting doubts about their futures within the entertainment sector.
Despite these hurdles, Markle remains committed to her pursuits in Hollywood.
The Duchess continues to be a contentious personality, with advocates praising her endeavors to establish her own identity and critics skeptical about her capacity to convert fame into lasting achievement.
